How to Apply

  1. Visit Our Careers Page

    • For the best experience, use Google Chrome.
    • Browse available positions and click the job title for details.
    • Select the "Apply" link to create a new NEOGOV account or log in to your existing account.
  2. Submit Your Application Online

    • Applications are stored securely and only accessible to authorized staff.
    • Ensure your application fully reflects your education and experience.
    • Resumes alone or incomplete applications will NOT be accepted.
  3. Application Deadlines

    • Each posting has a closing date and time. Positions may close earlier if enough qualified applicants apply.
  4. Don’t See the Right Position?

    • New jobs are posted every Friday.
    • Fill out a Job Interest Card to be notified when a matching position opens.

After You Apply

  • You will receive an immediate confirmation email once your application is submitted.
  • Applications cannot be modified after submission.
  • Applications are pre-screened based on minimum and preferred qualifications.
  • Candidates who best match the job requirements may be contacted for the next stage.

FAQs

Can I apply for a position after it has closed?

We do not accept any applications for closed positions.

Can I submit my application for a position that is not posted?

We do not accept any unsolicited applications. Please complete a job interest card so that you are notified the next time a position is available.

Can I apply for an Internal Opening?

Only current Board of County Commissioner employees are eligible to apply for a position that is marked "Internal Only".  Employees must meet all guidelines for internal preference to be considered on these.

How do I know if a position has closed on the Internet?

Once a position is officially closed it is removed from the website.

How do I apply for Veteran's Preference?

Attach your DD-214 form to your online application during the application process. If you are unable to upload it or forgot to include it, email a copy to talentacquisition@collier.gov

When will I hear back from Collier County Board of County Commissioners?

Collier County Board of County Commissioners will contact you via email when a position you have applied to and qualify for is filled, closed or put on hold. The timeframe to hear back varies by hiring division. Human Resources is unable to provide application updates until the hiring division reports them so please be patient.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application anytime by logging into your Government Jobs account and clicking on your name in the top right corner, selecting “Applications” and then selecting “History” on the application for which you are inquiring about.

 

 

Why is my application in “failed” status?

Your application may be in a “failed” status if you answered that you do not meet one or more of the requirements of the position.  Applications may also be in a “failed” status if Human Resources was unable to verify from your application that you possessed all the requirements.  Please note that Collier County Board of County Commissioners does not send notifications to applicants in a “failed” status.
