Irrigation Water

With the Water Shortage Warning issued by the South Florida Water Management District, Collier County Public Utilities is encouraging customers to follow the local water conservation ordinance and take simple steps to conserve water, protect local resources, and lower their monthly bills.
Irrigation Restrictions
Whether you irrigate with drinking (potable) water, private well or reuse/irrigation quality water,  Collier County’s Water Conservation Ordinance for Landscape Irrigation (2015-27) requires irrigation conservation measures.

The following mandatory water restrictions are in effect:
• Irrigation is limited to three days per week based on address.
• Even addresses may use irrigation water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
• Odd addresses may use irrigation water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
• Irrigation is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• No irrigation is permitted on Friday.

IRRIGATION QUALITY AND REUSE

The Irrigation Quality (IQ) section performs preventive maintenance to preserve reuse assets and ensure the sustained delivery of reuse water in compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations. This section provides operational oversight of water reuse, including IQ water distribution, regulatory compliance, and capital improvement projects.

Key Statistics:

• 6.5 billion gallons of Annual IQ Water Distribution
• 6,014 acres of Total Area Irrigated
• 135 miles of Piping Infrastructure
• 1,795 valves
• 13 Supplemental Wellfields and 6 Large Pump Stations

This section plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the reuse water system while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.
