Board of County Commissioners

The Collier County Board of County Commissioners is comprised of five members elected in the five different districts of the county. The Board of County Commissioners serves as the governing body of the county and has the responsibility of setting policies that protect the health, safety, welfare and quality of life of our residents and visitors.  The Board of County Commissioners appoints a county manager to carry out policies and oversee the county’s day-to-day operations.

Regular meetings of the Board of County Commissioners are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. During the months of November and December, the Board holds only one regular meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Speaking on Agenda Items and General Public Comment

All persons wishing to speak on Agenda items must register prior to presentation of the Agenda item to be addressed. Speaker Registration forms are available in the hallway outside the boardroom.  Once you have completed the form, provide it to the meeting emcee on the left side of the dais.  Your name will be called when your item is before the Board and before any vote is taken.

All registered speakers will receive up to three minutes unless the time is adjusted by the Chair.  Additional minutes may be ceded to an in-person speaker by other registered speakers who must be present at the time the speaker is heard. No public speakers will be heard for Proclamations, Presentations, or Public Petitions.

All persons wishing to speak on a Consent Agenda Item must register prior to the Board’s Approval of the day’s Consent Agenda, which is heard at the beginning of the meeting following the Pledge of Allegiance.

Anyone wishing to address the Board on general topics not on this agenda or a future agenda must register to speak prior to the Public Comment portion of the agenda when called by the Chair. Speakers will be limited to three minutes, and no additional minutes may be ceded to the speaker. At the Chair’s discretion, the number of public speakers may be limited to 5 for that meeting.
