90 Percent Design Plans

4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All interested members of the public are invited to attend a public information meeting on the 90 Percent Design Plans for the CAT Operations and Maintenance Facility from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at Collier Area Transit, 8300 Radio Road, Naples, Florida. The meeting will be conducted in an informal, open-house setting with no formal presentation. Attendees may stop by at any time during the two-hour time frame to review the project displays and talk one-on-one with the project team regarding any questions. The project is located at the Radio Road CAT Headquarters and Administration Building at 8300 Radio. Road, Naples. CAT’s existing facility is located on a 10.04-acre parcel. The existing facility contains a maintenance building with maintenance bays, parts shop, vehicle parking, offices for operations staff, a dispatch area, and a training room. The existing structure has met its useful life and sustained damage from previous storms that have not been repaired, requiring demolition after a new facility is built. The design is for the construction of a state-of-the-art, sustainable operations and maintenance facility; the infrastructure to support the electrification of a small size fleet; and the construction of solar panels for the utilization of minimizing power consumption. The design for the new facility shall address the needs of both operations and fleet maintenance, with space to accommodate administrative staff, bus operators, dispatchers, a training room with space for a bus simulator, parts and equipment storage, and electric fleet charging.

Public input is important and we encourage all interested residents, business owners, and visitors to share comments. For those who are unable to attend the meeting in person, comments can be emailed to RideCAT@collier.gov.

Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) may be present and participate at this meeting. The subject matter of this meeting may be an item for discussion and action at a future BCC meeting.
