Upcoming Curbside Collection Service Schedule Changes

Starting on August 7, there will be changes to the curbside collection schedule for the residents in Golden Gate City and some of the surrounding communities. These changes are being implemented to substantially minimize residential collections on Saturdays. Areas that will experience a change in collection days are shown below.

While the collection days will shift, there will be no reduction in curbside collection services. Residents will continue receiving the same excellent collection services – twice-a-week garbage collection and once-a-week recycling, bulk and yard waste collection.

To ensure a smooth transition, we will be providing detailed information and reminders through our website and social media channels as well as two informational postcard mailings to affected customers. As always, our customer service team will be available to answer any questions or concerns during this period and can be reached at 239-252-2380. The updated collection days map may be viewed at What Is My New Collection Day?

Conservation Collier staff plan to conduct a 100-acre prescribed burn at the Pepper Ranch Preserve located at 6315 Pepper Rd in Immokalee on Thursday, January 25, and possibly the following week if forecasted weather conditions remain the same and authorization is provided by the Florida Forest Service. This prescribed burn will be carried out with equipment and assistance from state and local agency partners of the South-Central Florida Prescribed Fire Working Group. The primary goal for this burn will be to achieve ecological and fuel reduction objectives to support the preserve’s fire dependent habitat and wildlife.

This prescribed burn is scheduled to take place between 9am and 6pm. Conservation Collier staff will be on-site monitoring and restoring the unit this week following the burn. Local dispatch centers will be notified the morning of the burn when authorization is granted by FFS. Preserve neighbors and stakeholders have been notified.
