Safe Haven Baby Box Blessing Ceremony at Collier County EMS Station 76
December 19, 2025
2:00 p.m.
A blessing ceremony will be held for the newly installed Safe Haven Baby Box at Collier County EMS Station 76 on Friday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m. at 790 Logan Blvd. N, Naples, Florida. Parking for the event will be located at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Road, with shuttle transportation provided to and from EMS Station 76. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for parking and shuttle service.
Collier County EMS, in partnership with Safe Haven Baby Boxes, recently completed installation of the Safe Haven Baby Box, which provides a secure, anonymous option for infant surrender under Florida’s Safe Haven Law. The system is climate-controlled, alarm-protected, and designed to immediately alert EMS personnel so that an infant receives prompt care.
In addition to the Safe Haven Baby Box, all Collier County EMS stations are designated Safe Haven drop-off locations. Under Florida’s Safe Haven Law, a parent may anonymously surrender an unharmed infant up to 30 days old to emergency personnel at any EMS station. When an infant is surrendered in accordance with the law, the surrender will not be considered abandonment and will not be subject to criminal investigation.
Community leaders, County officials, first responders, and partner agencies are invited to attend as the Baby Box is formally blessed and dedicated for use. The Safe Haven Baby Box will officially open for use following the ceremony.
Speakers at the event will include:
• Monica Kelsey, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Safe Haven Baby Boxes
• Bruce Gastineau, Chief, Collier County EMS
• Matthew Allen, Captain, Collier County EMS
• Chris Hall, Collier County Commissioner, District 2
• Amy Patterson, County Manager, Collier County
Pastor Tracy Boyd of Grow Church will provide the blessing.
Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners may be present and participate in this event.
