Upcoming Beach Renourishment Project Needs Help with Easements
Keeping Collier County beaches pristine is a full-time job for many dedicated team members. Over the past 10 years, the County’s Coastal Zone Management Section has overseen 15 beach renourishment truck haul projects, along with four emergency beach berm projects completed in 2023 following significant impacts from Hurricane Ian in 2022.
To place new sand on the beach, Temporary Beach Renourishment Easements are needed from property owners near the beaches. These temporary easements allow crews to access beach areas located behind private homes and condominiums for construction staging and sand placement.
In addition to scheduled renourishment efforts, these easements allow the County to remove debris along the beaches daily, respond to emergency shoreline cleanups during Red Tide fish kills or excessive drift events, and maintain protective dune systems.
Naples Beach is scheduled for critical beach renourishment in November 2026 to help restore shoreline stability and enhance storm protection ahead of future weather events.
If you own beachfront property or reside in a community along Naples Beach, please contact Collier County at RPM@collier.gov as soon as possible. This access through private property is temporary and used for the placement of high-quality sand that helps protect homes, condominiums, and shoreline infrastructure from erosion and storm damage.
Please share this information with your beachfront neighbors to help the County continue strengthening and protecting our resilient coastline.
