Port of the Islands Marina and Boat Ramp Scheduled for Brief Closure Beginning July 7 for Parking Lot Improvements

Collier County Parks & Recreation announces a brief closure at the Port of the Islands Marina and Boat Ramp, beginning July 7, to allow for scheduled parking lot rehabilitation improvements. The temporary closure will enable the County's contractor to complete essential pavement improvements designed to enhance safety, improve accessibility, and extend the life of the marina's parking facilities. The marina and boat ramp are expected to reopen upon completion of the work, weather permitting.

The temporary closure will enable the County's contractor to complete essential pavement improvements designed to enhance safety, improve accessibility, and extend the life of the marina's parking facilities.

The project includes:

Milling the existing asphalt pavement.

Installing a new SP-12.5 asphalt surface course.

Re-striping the Port of the Islands Boat Ramp parking lot.

Construction will take place from the underground fuel tank concrete pad to the fenced dry storage entrance gate. The work will remain entirely within the existing pavement footprint and will not expand the current parking area, consistent with the approved project scope. The improvements will be completed under Paving Contract No. 21-7842.

Before construction, Collier County Facilities Management will coordinate closely with the Port of the Islands Marina to provide advance notification of the closure and ensure the parking lot is free of vehicles, trailers, and other obstructions. The contractor will maintain safe access whenever possible and coordinate any temporary access restrictions with County staff and marina management as construction progresses.

Visitors planning to launch boats or access the marina are encouraged to make alternate arrangements during the two-day closure. Normal operations are expected to resume upon completion of the paving and striping work, weather permitting.

These improvements are part of Collier County's ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, accessible, and high-quality recreational facilities for residents and visitors.
