Collier County Floodplain Management Planning Committee Working Group Floodplain Management Plan Update

Public Information Meeting
Collier County, Florida

October 28,2026

5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Collier County Community Planning & Resiliency Division staff are planning a public information meeting on Wednesday, October 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to discuss the update to the Collier County Floodplain Management Plan. The meeting will be held at the Collier County Growth Management Community Development Department Offices, Conference Room 609/610, 2800 Horseshoe Drive N, Naples, Florida.

Collier County has updated the Floodplain Management Plan and is seeking input on the draft plan. This plan evaluates the County’s flood hazards and vulnerability, assesses local capabilities to implement flood mitigation projects, and identifies a wide range of mitigation actions that the County can pursue to reduce flood risk and protect the people and property of Collier. The plan also supports the County’s participation in the Community Rating System (CRS), which provides eligible flood insurance policyholders in Collier County with discounts on their premiums. The draft plan will be presented for public review and comment, and community members are encouraged to provide input on mitigation strategies the County can pursue to reduce flood risks and protect people and property from flood impacts. The draft plan is posted on the County’s Floodplain Management Plan Website (https://www.colliercountyfl-fmp.com/) for public and stakeholder review. Comments and feedback on the draft plan can be sent to the County’s planning consultant, David Stroud with WSP, at david.stroud@wsp.com.

For those unable to attend in person, a virtual participation option will be available via Webex. The virtual session will provide access to the same project displays and materials, with live chat or question-and-answer features for one-on-one discussions with the design consultant and staff.

Individuals who would like to participate remotely should register at https://colliercountyfl.webex.com/colliercountyfl/j.php?MTID=m01bd6394b1d5cab6c191a974104c9ed0.

Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) may be present and participate at this meeting. The subject matter of this meeting may be an item for discussion and action at a future BCC meeting.
