Celebrates Adopt a Shelter Dog Month With “Home for the Howl-idays”
Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is celebrating Adopt a Shelter Dog Month throughout October with its “Home for the Howl-idays” adoption promotion, featuring fee-waived adoptions for all dogs every Saturday and Sunday throughout the month.
The fee-waived adoption promotion will be offered on the following weekends: October 3-4, October 10-11, October 17-18, and October 24-25. Community members are invited to visit DAS and meet the many dogs currently waiting for homes.
“October is a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on shelter dogs and help them find the families they have been waiting for,” said Jonee' Willette, Programs Manager of Collier County Domestic Animal Services. “We have so many deserving dogs with unique personalities and lots of love to give. We hope the community will take advantage of this special promotion and consider giving a shelter dog a home.”
Throughout the month, DAS will celebrate “Home for the Howl-idays” with a seasonal campaign highlighting adoptable dogs and encouraging members of the community to make adoption part of their fall plans.
All dogs will have their adoption fees waived each Saturday and Sunday in October. Adoption fees include the adoption process and services provided by DAS to help prepare animals for their new homes.
DAS encourages residents to visit the shelter during the fee-waived weekends, explore available dogs online, and follow @CollierCountyDAS on social media for updates, featured adoptable dogs, and additional adoption opportunities throughout the month.
