Property Owner Responsibilities
If your property has a fire protection system, you are responsible for keeping it maintained, tested and in compliance with all state and local laws (Collier County Ordinance No. 97-33 and Rule 62-555, Florida Administrative Code). This ensures your system is ready to perform in an emergency and that it never contaminates the public drinking water supply.
What You Need to Do
1. Test your assembly every year, by the anniversary of your last test.
Your fire line assembly must be tested annually. Schedule your test with enough lead time to avoid missing this deadline.
2. Use a certified tester.
A list of approved testing companies can be found here(PDF, 86KB). You may also use a different company, as long as it is preapproved to perform testing within the Collier County Water Sewer District.
3. Submit your results.
Submit test results through the Spry Backflow Test Submission Portal and send a copy to:

If your test is not submitted within 14 days of the due date, your property may be referred to Collier County Code Enforcement.
4. Keep a copy of your test results.
Retain your most recent passing test at your property. You must be able to provide it on request to a Collier County code inspector or other authorized official.
If your assembly fails its test:
- have it repaired or replaced, and
- submit a passing test result, or a written status update on corrective action, within 30 calendar days of the failed test.
If the update is not received within 30 days, your property may be referred to Collier County Code Enforcement. Continued noncompliance may result in notification to your local Fire District and may require a fire watch at your expense.
