Specialty Contractor Licenses No Longer Required as of July 1, 2025:
*Pursuant to Senate Bill 1142 and Florida Statute 489 (Specifically 489.113 and 489.117) the following specialty contractor licenses are no longer required in Collier County:
- Acoustical.
- Cabinet.
- Decorative Metal.
- Dredging.
- Epoxy.
- Excavation.
- Exterior Covering by Artificial Stucco System.
- Floor Covering.
- Insulation.
- Landscape.
- Nonelectrical Sign.
- Nonrecreational Pond Waterfall Fountain.
- Painting.
- Paving Block.
- Paving Commercial.
- Pollutant Storage Contractor.
- Reinforced Steel.
- Sandblasting.
- Satellite Dish.
- Sealing and Striping.
- Swimming pool cleaning.
- Tile and marble.
- Tile, marble, and Terrazzo.
- Tree trimming/removal.
Pursuant to Florida State Statute 489 and Collier County Ordinance 2006-46(PDF, 3MB), any person, firm, partnership, corporation or other legal entity who engages in any construction contracting business, or advertises or represents himself/herself as such, must have a county contractor license/certificate of competency or be a state-certified contractor. It is unlawful to contract without a certificate of competency!

How to Register for a GMD Public Portal Account
If you already have an existing GMD Public Portal account, do not create a new account.

Commercial Boat Launch Permit Update
All commercial boat launch permits are currently in use. If you are a new company looking to obtain a commercial boat launch permit, please contact our office after January 1, 2027. Existing 2026 permit holders will be able to submit their application for a 2027 permit on October 2, 2026.
Please submit electronically through our online public portal: https://cvportal.collier.gov/cityviewweb/. The application form can be found on the contractor licensing website under applications and forms.
