Goodlette-Frank Road Widening Project 30 Percent Design Plans Public Information Meeting

5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

 

All interested members of the public are invited to attend a public information meeting regarding the Goodlette-Frank Road Widening Project 30 Percent Design Plans on Wednesday, September 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Veterans Community Park, Room A, 1895 Veterans Park Drive, Naples, Florida. The meeting will include displays of conceptual design plans for the widening of a 1.6-mile section of Goodlette-Frank Road from Vanderbilt Beach Road to Immokalee Road from two lanes to four lanes. In addition, a short video will replay continuously during the entire meeting time. There will not be a formal presentation.

The design includes:

1. Sidewalks, bike lanes, and a multi-use pathway;
2. Improved stormwater drainage;
3. Repairs to the existing bridge crossing over Pelican Marsh Boulevard;
4. Construction of a new bridge over Pelican Marsh Boulevard to accommodate the two new lanes;
5. Repairs to the existing golf cart underpass; and
6. Construction of a new golf cart underpass to accommodate the two new lanes.

Benefits include the items listed below:

1. Increased Roadway Capacity - Additional travel lanes will improve traffic flow and accommodate future transportation needs.
2. Improved Roadway Condition - New pavement as well as repairs to the current asphalt will provide a smoother, more durable roadway.
3. Improved Lighting -New light poles along the corridor will enhance visibility and improve nighttime conditions.
4. Improved Drainage - New curb and gutter, along with an upgraded drainage system, will improve stormwater management throughout the corridor.
5. Enhanced Pedestrian and Bicyclist Connectivity with a multiuse path along the southbound side, continuous sidewalk along the northbound side, and dedicated bike lanes on both sides of the roadway to provide improved connectivity and accessibility for pedestrians and bicyclists.
6. Improved Bridge Infrastructure via repairing the existing bridges to extend their service life and improve their structural condition as well as construction of two new bridges to provide modern, durable structures that enhance safety, reliability, and long-term transportation connectivity.

Design completion is expected in the summer of 2027.  Construction may begin as early as spring of 2028.

Florida’s Transportation Regional Incentive Program (TRIP) is anticipated to provide a $2.75 million grant for construction.

Project displays will be posted on the county’s website at https://www.colliercountyfl.gov/transportationprojects by 9/30/26.

Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) may be present and may participate at this public information meeting. The subject matter of this meeting may be an item for discussion and action at a future BCC meeting.
