Transportation Planning

Transportation planning is the process of defining future policies, goals and infrastructure designs to prepare for future needs to move people and goods to destinations. Collier County plans for multi-modes of transportation facilities including local roads, highways, sidewalks, bike lanes, and transit. 

Transportation Planning provides the following services to residents and visitors of Collier County:

• Coordination & review of developer commitment agreements
• Development & maintenance of the Transportation Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
• Study future corridor improvements
• Monitor transportation concurrency 
• Review proposed development for transportation impacts to the existing transportation network base TIS Guidelines(PDF, 2MB) and Resolution 2006-299(PDF, 2MB)
• Assist with traffic calming analysis and facilitation of the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) Manual(PDF, 3MB)
• Maintains the Access Management Policy as adopted by BCC in Resolution 2025-150(PDF, 12MB)

The Transportation Planning Section continues to coordinate long range planning services with the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
