The Rural Golden Gate Estates Restudy Committee was established on December 9, 2025, by Ordinance No. 2025-070 to assist the Board of County Commissioners in identifying issues and relevant best practices. The Committee’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing studies and potential amendments to the Collier County Growth Management Plan, including the Rural Golden Gate Estates Sub-Element of the Golden Gate Area Master Plan, as well as considering other topics of interest identified by the Board.
The Rural Golden Gate Estates Sub-Element will be the primary focus of the Committee’s review. The Sub-Element provides policy guidance for the planning and management of the Rural Golden Gate Estates area and generally addresses land use and development patterns, protection of natural resources, infrastructure and services, preservation of rural character, and environmental considerations.
