Public Information Meeting - January 20, 2026

Two Public Information Meetings will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the first from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the second from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Both of these meetings will be held at the Golden Gate Community Center at 4701 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples, FL 34116.

Both meetings will be the same, but held twice to allow for additional choice for your convenience. These meetings will be conducted in an informal open house setting with no formal presentation. The project team will be available at both meetings to answer any questions.

This Master Plan is proposed as a guiding document to coordinate and integrate infrastructure improvements in Golden Gate City over the next 20+ years.

Overview

In late 2021, the County applied for a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) grant and was awarded funding in June 2022. This DEP grant is being used for a study to develop an integrated Master Plan for the unincorporated area referred to as Golden Gate City, which is identified as the area bounded on the north by Green Boulevard, on the east by Collier Boulevard, on the west by Santa Barbara Boulevard, and on the south by the Golden Gate Main Canal as shown in Figure 1. This Master Plan is a comprehensive, long-term (20+year) strategy to guide infrastructure improvements in Golden Gate City.

Study Overview

Collier County has previously evaluated and performed studies on various infrastructure improvements needed within Golden Gate City. Improvements include adding sidewalks and bike lanes, improving landscaping, stormwater, drainage, lighting, and pavement, and adding or replacing utilities such as potable water, wastewater, irrigation, and fiber optic cable. 

The goal of the Master Plan is to integrate these studies and evaluate any additional improvements needed within the study area to develop an overall phasing plan. The phasing plan will ensure that needs and improvements are coordinated to provide the necessary services in a cost-efficient manner. This Master Plan will guide the county to ensure coordination of future improvements, manage costs, and maintain existing and future infrastructure in the area.

The study analysis and proposed phasing plan will be presented at an upcoming public meeting anticipated in early 2026.

PIM #2 Notice

All interested members of the public are invited to attend a public information meeting regarding the Golden Gate Parkway Corridor Congestion Study 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples, FL 34116. The meeting will present the Preferred Alternative, highlighting proposed transportation improvements along Golden Gate Parkway from east of Airport Road to west of Santa Barbara Boulevard. Attendees can view conceptual corridor layouts, visualizations of major improvements, a summary of public input from the first meeting, and upcoming next steps. In addition, a short video will be provided to share the preferred alternatives. The video will be on a loop and run continuously during the entire meeting time. There will not be a formal presentation.

The primary objectives of this study included a comprehensive analysis of existing traffic conditions, identification of current and future congestion points, and development of major improvements to enhance traffic flow, improve safety, and support future growth along this vital corridor.

The study goals focused on identifying feasible improvements such as optimizing signal timing, managing traffic flow, increasing roadway capacity to reduce congestion, improving travel time reliability, and enhancing safety for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Several potential major improvements were screened and analyzed at the signalized intersections within the study area, resulting in identification of a corridor-wide Preferred Alternative. The major improvement proposed at the Livingston Road intersection consists of a grade-separated overpass. In addition, the I-75 ramp intersections were evaluated for capacity and safety, leading to proposed modifications to the southbound off-ramp traffic signal configuration.

Project displays will be posted on the county’s website after the meeting at Transportation Planning Studies | Collier County, FL. For anyone who is not able to attend the meeting, comments may be sent via email to Katherine.eastley@collier.gov.The public comment period will end March 12, 2026.

Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) may be present and may participate at this public information meeting. The subject matter of this meeting may be an item for discussion and action at a future BCC meeting.

Golden Gate Parkway Corridor Congestion Study

This study will evaluate traffic congestion along the Golden Gate Parkway Corridor from west of Livingston Road to east of the I-75 Interchange. Improvements to relieve congestion will be identified along the corridor segment with an emphasis on improvements at the Livingston Road intersection.  Public information meetings will be scheduled for public input, and a final report will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners for review and approval.

Veteran's Memorial Blvd. Ext Phase II

Capital Project Planning, Impact Fees, and Program Management Division of Transportation Management Services Department (TMSD) is responsible for the development of capital infrastructure that supports the transportation network in Collier County. This charge includes the development and extension of Veterans Memorial Blvd., an identified and prioritized need. Transportation Planning is working on a study to connect Veteran's Memorial Blvd. from where it terminates now, at Aubrey Rogers High School to US41.

The extension of Veteran's Memorial Blvd. has been an established need in the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) since the 2030 LRTP, adopted in January 2006. While the project had not received funding until recently, it was anticipated that the road would connect US41 to Livingston Road as an urban 6 lane facility. The urban typical section of the road requires curb and gutter and ponds. Since the adoption of the 2030 LRTP, there have been numerous studies all confirming the need for Veteran's Memorial Blvd. as well as the need for sidewalks and shared use pathways along this corridor to connect US41 to Livingston Rd. With the completion of the Aubrey Rogers High School, the need has increased. The 2035, 2040 and 2045 LRTP's all include Veteran's Memorial Blvd., and the Paradise Coast Trail Pathway Report and Feasibility Study confirm the need for sidewalk and pathway projects in this location.

Veterans Memorial Blvd. is a parallel facility to Immokalee Road, and Bonita Beach Road, and will also relieve US 41 and I-75 by creating a larger network for vehicles to travel. In addition, there will be a reduced need for road maintenance and a reduction in injuries or fatalities by providing sidewalk for bicyclists and pedestrians and improve overall traffic operations.

This study is for the conceptual design and permitting of Veterans Memorial Blvd. Phase II from west of the new high school entrance to east of Old 41 and then continuing with an additional segment from Old 41 to US41.

Public Information Meeting 1

The first Public Meeting for the Wilson Blvd. Extension Corridor Study was held on June 27, 2022. The study's goal is to determine a preferred corridor alignment and specifications to connect Golden Gate Boulevard E and Collier Boulevard for improved access between neighborhoods/destinations; roadway network connectivity; and emergency response. In 2005, a previous Wilson Boulevard Extension Corridor Study identified three corridors for further evaluation that resulted in near-term and long-term recommendations. This new study plans to build on the previous study by looking at county-owned property to facilitate corridor development and assess environmental impacts, as well as land use and funding/implementation.
